The Topic Room: USHER IN THE ANGELS!
Have you ever seen an angel before? I haven’t, but I bet I know one way to get them to show up!
I love to immerse myself in praise and worship. I can sing along to classics like ‘I see the Lord’ by Ron Kenoly, and I can’t stay still when songs like ‘Your love’ by one of my favourite artists, Limoblaze, is blaring in the background.
From the age of about six or seven, I had always been involved in a church choir. I have fond memories of enthusiastically belting out songs with the Sunday School choir and eventually leading praise and worship in the ‘big church’. I recall services when the choir and the congregation would find themselves bowing prostrate on the floor because of the Holy Spirit’s heavy presence in the atmosphere. It was glorious!
However, as awesome as the experiences were, I would sometimes find myself jealous of the type of praise and worship that goes on at the citadel of power itself – the throne of God.
Revelations Chp 5 v 11-12: ‘Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders, and the number of them was myriads, and thousands of thousands, (12) saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honour and glory and blessings.”‘
Just picture that for a second – thousands of angels worshipping the Lord in unison! I get goosebumps just thinking about it! Not much can compare with the excitement of honouring our King with songs of worship and shouts of praise. And I find so much joy in the absolute freedom of expressing my love and adoration for a Father who has given all of Himself to court me into His loving arms. But, let’s face it, angels probably know how to praise and worship better than we do – after all, they get loads of practise! I don’t claim to know all there is to know about angels, I’m certainly not an expert, but there are two things I take away when I look at how angels conduct their worship.
- FOCUS
Revelations Chp 7 v 11-12: ‘And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders…and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshipped God, saying, “Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honour and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.’
The angels are focused on Who they are worshipping. Let us also fix our eyes on Jesus and remember His greatness in times of praise and worship.
- CONTINUITY
Revelations Chp 4 v 8: ‘And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God, The Almighty, Who was and is and Who is to come”.
According to the Bible, angels praise God continuously. So, whether we’re cooking in the kitchen or driving the kids to school, let us also take every available opportunity to give God praise.
Angels fight on our behalf, they deliver messages and even encourage us, but no matter what they do, they always return to the presence of the Father. So, why not make them feel at home! Let us aim to usher in the awesome presence of God. The Bible says mountains melt like wax before Him. Even demons and the darkness that they carry must find the nearest exit when He’s around. If we generate an atmosphere saturated with God’s presence, we will create an environment that angels are familiar with, and chances are, they will show up and join you!

Thank you Foluso. I think a lot of the time we think angels are not for us and tend to brush them off as just in the bible. This confirms and affirms angels are part of our daily lives as long as we let them in. Praise be to the Lord, God Almighty.
